Emergency! Something bad has happened… and you think you should call an ambulance. What do you do next?
Step 1. Get an adult. Your father, mother, teacher, or another adult. If there is no adult nearby and the situation is urgent: call 112 yourself!
Step 2. Call 112. Easy! We have one telephone number in the Netherlands for all emergencies. Police, fire brigade, and ambulance: all can be reached on 112. If you call 112, the following happens:
- Someone asks who you need: police, fire brigade or ambulance
- You say that you need an ambulance
- Someone else will then ask you questions about the injured person.
