An emergency dispatch will not always result in the patient being transported in the ambulance. For some cases, the patient may require continued treatment and care at a hospital Accident and Emergency department but in other cases it may be better for the patient to remain at home and for care to be transferred to a GP. In all cases, the doctor who takes over the care of the patient will be carefully brought up-to-date with all relevant information on the patient, the emergency 112 call and the care provided by the emergency medical technician and the nurse-paramedic. This information is provided using the digital ambulance dispatch form.
