Ambulance on route

While the ambulance is on the way, the emergency medical dispatcher assesses the emergency situation following a strict protocol. The dispatcher asks a set series of questions so that no important details are missed. The dispatcher then passes the essential information on to the ambulance team so that the emergency medical technician and nurse-paramedic are ready for immediate action on arrival. Meanwhile the emergency medical dispatchers will tell callers how to help alleviate further suffering when possible, how to perform life-saving emergency procedures (in extreme situations), and how to prepare for the arrival of the ambulance. The emergency medical dispatchers are on the front line of emergency healthcare, providing essential advice and reassurance to the emergency 112 caller.
